The Sisterhood
December 2006

For those of you who know me well, you might find this picture quite bizarre as indeed my family does. It appears to us to be a perfect compilation of my sister and myself, photographically speaking. In fact, when I showed it to my father he laughed and said "that's clever," thinking it was deliberately mocked up to achieve such an objective.
It is actually a photo I took of myself for a classroom project using a mirror (which explains the head cocked to one side--not characteristic of me) with a Photoshop light filter applied giving it a glowing appearance. We all had a good laugh over it since it is like looking at the two of us at once. As such, I thought I would share it here. We have become so close that it appears we are almost one!

Fun in Olde England
July 2006
My mom, sister and I spent two weeks in Yorkshire, England this summer visiting my Grandfather and other relatives. One of my favorite icons dotted along the roadside in different towns is the old red telephone box. I seem to remember seeing more of them from visits when I was younger. Since I have returned I confirmed that they are slowly disappearing as times change and there is less demand for the public telephone. There are a few that remain as historical and architectural charms, and during our stay at a chalet in Sherwood Forest my sister and I took advantage of hamming it up in one that we found in the forest! (Visit my Photo Gallery for more pictures of this trip)

College Withdrawl?
May 2006
It must be an oximoron, but there are several aspects of college that I miss. Namely the people, well, it was a toss up between them and the exams, but the people are more exciting. Apart from obtaining a degree, which is of course, the primary reason to attend a University, it's an interesting crossroads of people from all walks of life who spend four to six years of their lives in a sort of bubble before entering the real world as a working stiff.
This month marks the second year that has passed since my graduation. The thought that struck me, however, was that this was not just my graduation--I always referred to it as "our graduation." I was never involved with a sorority, thank goodness, but I was blessed to have some close friends who shared my classes, projects, concerns, and on the whole, my time. The sad part is that come graduation we all had to part ways as is always the case, to make our own way in the world. This stage took all but one of my close friends away to other parts of the country. If you are one of these friends reading this right now, I miss you and hope you are doing well. I am greatful that with technology we are able to keep in touch, hence the creation of this website.
I thought this was a fitting theme for the first installment of "What I Think" since this entire website was designed for my long distance friends and family. Generally speaking, I had this earmarked as my own person blog space, but my father has made me take an oath that I will not turn this into a space for cynical ranting like so many blogs on the net. I shouldn't think that will be a problem, though I do feel very passionately about many issues, but I shall try not to let myself get out of control. I also hope to avoid the whole "private-journal-entry-on-the-world-wide-web" syndrome that can result if I spill my guts in this section. Thus, this should be something in between both of the above.
The photo below was taken at "our graduation" party two years ago, and has been pinned to my corkboard in my room ever since. I see it everyday and marvel at how so many of our lives have changed so much since that night. Four of you are married or engaged, and six of you own your own homes. I am glad that I have been able to keep in touch with most of you. I wish it is was all of you, but some have gone MIA..ahem, Alok!

Cuties
July 2006
I seriously think that baby Angel could compete with the Gerber baby for the label of the popular food brand. After all the original Gerber baby face was introduced in 1928, meaning that the face is 78 years old today, and that is neither an attractive thought nor a very smart way to market baby food.
I absolutely love babysitting this little doll, she is one of the easiest, cutest babies I have ever cuddled! She is at the age when the camera is a strange and hilarious object and she simply cannot get enough of it! Photogenic from an early age!
